DESCRIPTION: The corollas of these freesias, developed by horticulturists through selective breeding and hybridization, consist of numerous segments, resulting in larger, fuller, or "double" flowers. The flowers are funnel-shaped, wonderfully fragrant, and have a double bloom on gracefully curved stems. These plants have the same care requirements as those of horticultural origin with single flowers and can be mixed with them during planting.
PACKAGE: The package contains 15 double-flowered Freesia bulbs in a mix; the bulbs have a circumference of 5/6 cm (approximately 2 cm in diameter). The package includes a beautiful illustrative photo, along with information on planting and flowering—making it an excellent gift idea as well.
HOW TO GROW: Plant freesia corms at a slight angle with the tip facing up, about 3 cm deep, either in pots or in the ground. Space each corm around 3-5 cm apart. Freesias prefer light, well-draining soil. Proper drainage is key. Choose a sunny spot, as these flowers thrive in full sun. Plant the corms between September and December for spring flowering (February to May), or from February to May to get flowering between July and September, although the exact timing may vary depending on the variety and climatic conditions.
